Lose Weight In a Week

Lose Weight In a Week

Lose weight in a week? Everybody seems in such a hurry these days, and it does have to be said that a steadier approach is better. Nevertheless, it is certainly possible to lose weight in a week, and not just the odd pound, but a meaningful amount. Here’s how  you can lose weight in a week.

Tip 1
There is no question that it is possible to lose weight in a week, but exactly how much depends on various factors. How heavy you are when you start will determine the rate at which you can lose weight, and there are other factors which have an influence as well. Men have a greater muscle mass which helps them burn calories faster than women. On average, it should be comfortably possible to lose 5 or 6 lbs in one week.

Tip 2
However desperate you are, don’t attempt too much. There is a limit to how much weight anyone, no matter how great their determination, can lose. If you are looking to lose over 20 lbs in a week just to fit into a party frock, then you are very unlikely to succeed.  Set realistic goals, and make sure you check your progress every day. If what you are doing isn’t working, you need to know about it as soon as possible, so you can make the necessary adjustments.

Tip 3
Choose your favorite exercise, and do plenty of it. If you are not normally the physically active type, then you may not have a favorite exercise. In this case, choose something which you will be prepared to do a lot of in order to achieve your cherished goal. You will need  to be putting in the hours every day consistently and often if you want fast results! Jogging and cycling are great ways to burn off excess calories, and brisk walking is more gentle, but still effective. You will need to put in a few miles, though!

Tip 4
Tell people you can trust of your aims. Often people you know will be skeptical when you say you want to lose a certain amount of weight in a short time. You will not want the humiliation of having them proven right, but you will enjoy the satisfaction of seeing them admit they were wrong. Motivation is critical for any activity where strenuous effort is needed, and these are great carrot and stick motivators!

When you need to lose weight in a week, these tips will help you do just that. As ever, if you are going to attempt a dramatic change of lifestyle, it will be advisable to get advice from your own doctor. Click the links below for valuable resources to help you lose weight.

Are You Overweight, Is It Too Late?

Saturday, September 12th, 2009
Article Body:
When is it too late to start exercising and eating healthy? Some people say never, I disagree with that. I think it would be hard to do that when you are 6 feet under because you never started eating healthy and exercising. But as long as  you are still breathing, it is not too late.
If you are overweight it makes life much harder, getting up and down, walking anywhere, much less trying to exercise. Out of the corner of your eye you see people staring and whispering. They might as well go ahead and point, too.
The best time to start an exercise program and eating healthy is when you are young. Unfortunately that is not always the case. As a person gets older, that old saying, “It is hard to teach an old dog new tricks”, is very true, but not impossible. For whatever reason people tend to be less active.
At any age a person should and can improve their way of eating and getting some kind of exercise. You don’t have to quit eating, if you do that, you might dry up like a prune. Learning a new way of eating and enjoying new foods, with a friend or group, is a good way to lose the weight.
Walk with a friend 2 or 3 times a week. Start off walking short distances and increase it a little at a time. You’ll be surprised at how much better you begin to feel each day. Between the eating healthy and exercising you’ll feel like an new person in no time and life will be better and easier.
Soon those  same people who were staring and whispering will come up to you and say, “Don’t I know you, you look so familiar, but I just can’t place you?” And you will smile and say, “You must be mistaken, that was another person.”
Start today with your new way of life; you’re going to love the way you feel.

Computer Desks – think before you buy

Sunday, August 23rd, 2009

Thinking Computer Desk

Thinking Computer Desk

Many people buy a computer, only to find that it doesnt really fit anywhere. They can be big, awkwardly-shaped things, with a whole collection of wires and gadgets that all need somewhere to stand.

The solution is to get a computer desk. They don’t cost much, and they’re specially designed to hold all the peripherals a computer needs. There’s space for the monitor, speakers and mouse on the top, a shelf for the keyboard, and then compartments at the bottom for the system box itself and even for a printer or scanner. A good computer desk will also have holes and routes for all the various cables that are needed to tie it all together and make it work. All you need is a comfortable office chair, and you’re set.

With the rise of wireless networking, it is even possible to have computer desks in places you wouldn’t otherwise have thought of, as long as you have an electrical outlet handy. All you need to do is add a wireless card to the computer and plug the connection into a router, and then you can use the Internet without having to run network cables all over the place. This works especially well in offices, where lots of computer may be networked together, or, worse, networked to one printer or server.

In larger computing environments, it is possible to get big computer desks that are set up for multiple computers, making it easier for a team to work together on them. Some desks even come with computers integrated, meaning that the working parts of the computer can be hidden much better, a bit like a kitchen with built-in appliances. However, the downside of too much integration between the computers and the desks is that it can make the computers much more difficult to repair if they happen to break.

Drinking Tea Can Actually Help You Lose Weight

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

Tea

Tea

Although experts are divided on exactly how healthy green tea, there is no doubt that it has some health benefits. The following are the ones that have some scientific research behind them.

Firstly, green tea shares all the health benefits that are thought to come from black tea, except in a more effective form, as the tea is fresher. Tea can help reduce your chances of getting heart disease by up to half, as well as fight dental plaque and cavities (although it will also stain your teeth if you dont make sure to drink plenty of water and brush regularly, so watch out).

Drinking tea also burns more calories than just taking caffeine in pill form, as your body has to cool down the hot drink once it is inside you, and that takes energy. Tea can often burn more calories than it contains, meaning that could potentially help you to lose weight if you drink enough of it.

Strangely enough, tea is also thought to affect the colour of your hair if you drink it in sufficient quantities. Black tea will make your hair darker, while green tea will make it a little redder  it sounds too far-fetched to be true, but many women swear by it, particularly in India.

Unfortunately, there is also no shortage of people willing to claim that green tea will help you with whatever condition is fashionable at the moment. For that reason, read this list with some scepticism  its up to you if you want to believe in green tea, or if it makes you personally feel better, but little has been proven scientifically either way. Green tea has been mooted as a cure for cancer, Alzheimers, arthritis, multiple sclerosis, heart disease, cardiovascular disease and HIV. But if it worked, surely wed all be drinking it by now?

Crazy Contact Lenses – Making Them Look Deep Into Your Eyes

Monday, August 10th, 2009
Contact Lens

Contact Lens

The possibilities are endless. Get wild, weird, or simply beautiful lenses for whatever occasion you attend or impression you want to make.

But because decorative lenses do not always require a prescription and because there are so many ways to buy them, it’s important that consumers research companies selling them, especially those based online. Do not put your eyesight at risk!

They say eyes are windows to the soul. So if you are creatively stylish with your makeup, clothes, shoes, or hairdo, why not do the same with your eyes? Even if you have 20/20 vision, you can still be a part of the fashion trend of crazy contact lenses. Don’t just change the color of your eye, change the design! You don’t even need a prescription.

But if you do have prescribed contact lenses, why not experiment a little? Remember when you were younger and wore orange and black wired braces for the month of Halloween? Well, how about on October 31st you wear a really spooky pair of contact lenses?

There are all sorts of crazy contact lenses out there. You can make your eyeballs look entirely green or you can appear to have cat eyes. Maybe you want to wear crazy contact lenses for Halloween, a night out on the town, or perhaps you prefer a subtler, but equally awesome look for your daily life.

Child Health Day Tips to Improve Your Familys Future

Sunday, July 5th, 2009

Child Health Day

Child Health Day

The latest data from the Utah Department of Health (UDOH) show that 21.5% of children in Utah are at an unhealthy weight. At every grade, more boys than girls are at an unhealthy weight. Between 3rd and 5th grades, the percentage of Utah students at an unhealthy weight increased dramatically. What can be done to influence our children’s health?

October 6, 2008 is National Child Health Day and UDOH is offering suggestions to families to start making positive changes now to affect the future health of their children.

Following are ideas parents can use to help children eat healthy and get enough exercise.

1) Set a good example. Dont just say it, do it! If parents enjoy eating healthy foods and being active, their children will likely follow in their foot steps.

2) Help your kids get active. Add an hour of physical activity into your childs daily routine. Incorporate an exercise plan that involves your whole family, such as walking, biking, or going to a park to play.

3) Limit television watching to less than two hours per day. By limiting TV time and video game playing, your child will become more active. Keep television out of childrens rooms.

4) Encourage healthy eating habits. Plan a healthy menu and buy whats on your list. Include more fruits, vegetables and whole grain foods. Your child needs time to eat a healthy breakfast every day. Substitute soft drinks and other sweet beverages with fat-free or low fat milk at meals, and lots of water. Know how much food your child needs to eat.

5) Make meal time family time. Children eat more fruits and vegetables and are more likely to be at a healthy weight, when a family eats dinner together at home. Turn off the TV and enjoy the time talking about your day.

As you incorporate healthier food choices for your children and your entire family, dont forget to explain why the change is important. As you reduce TV time, be sure to communicate that it is not a punishment but rather a time to become more active. Allow children to become involved in planning meals by letting them pick some healthy foods at the grocery store or writing them on the grocery list.

Why Submit Articles?

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

Submit Articles

Submit Articles

Knowing what you now know about the value of incoming links, how would you like to have your links promoted by hundreds and Thousands of internet marketers, some even emailing your articles to their lists of subscribers? These would all be one-way INCOMING links to your site, and it can be totally free, but for a small amount you can send them to thousands and go completely viral overnight!

That’s what we can do with articles!
An article is just a story about something you know about or are interested in. It can be as short as 300 words or as long as say 1,500 generally.

The best way I’ve found to write an article is to decide what I’m going to write about, and then think about how I would explain this story to a friend over the phone or in an email. I go over the conversation in my head then start writing without stopping to fix typos, spelling, grammar or even worrying about it making sense. If I head down a different path, and get off track, I keep going along with it and keep writing until I come back to the storyline.

After a few paragraphs I find I have trouble writing as quickly as my thoughts emerge, so I never have a problem with finding enough content to put in the article using this technique. I understand there are many other ways to write articles and loads of tips and tricks but just remember “the ONE thing” above “We must be able to start anything!”

After we have produced an Article we then need to get it published on the web with our signature containing a link back to our website!

Websites are pretty necessary

Sunday, March 15th, 2009

Website

Website

Dear Friend,

After surfing the internet, I came across an interesting article that everyone should read. Websites seem pretty hard core to some people which is why they don’t even take the time to try to learn how to create them or even learn about them. Websites are crucial to maximizing your money if you are selling information on the internet. Some people advertise that you don’t need to have a website in order to make money. In a way, these individuals are right, but at the same time are wrong. People claim that creating a website is too hard, waste of energy, and once again extremely difficult! This isn’t entirely true, because if you take the time to learn how to do it then ultimately you’ll know how to do it. You just need to be guided by the right information and take the time to learn the concepts. You shouldn’t be fooled with people trying to persuade you to think that websites aren’t necessary. It would be a shame for you to miss out on the opportunity for maximizing your money by simply having a website. You might be wondering why are there people that convince people to believe the unimportance of having your own website. Well, it’s simple some people just don’t know how to properly create a website which makes the task seem hard. These individuals would rather emphasize that websites are hard and a waste of time. However, in order to be able to maximize your money you should ingrain the idea of having your very own website is the way to go. This article was fascinated as you can probably tell already. It taught be the importance of a website and much more techniques that will certainly benefit me in the future. I hope you take the opportunity to simply read and appreciate this article as I did!

Good Luck! Thank you, Stephanie Martinez

Celebrating the Joy of Nutrition and Fitness Part 7 of 7

Tuesday, March 10th, 2009

3.    Drink in the evening: Serve power drinks for dinner.

Skip the soft drinks and pour a power drink for the whole family. Kids of all ages need bone-building calcium and protein to stay strong and grow tall. Milk (1 percent or fat-free) is a delicious way to get powerful protein, vitamins, minerals, and fluids all in one glass.

4.    Drink smart at parties: Watch alcohol and eggnog.

Alcoholic drinks add calories themselves, and they reduce inhibitions so you also eat more food. Eggnog is high in calories, with or without alcohol. If you do choose to drink alcohol, alternate your drinks with glasses of refreshing water. Never drink and drive.

5.    Drink before activity: Hydrate yourself with water.

Being well hydrated enhances your athletic performance and your enjoyment. You’ll do better and feel better, too! Drink at least 8 to 16 ounces of water a couple of hours before you begin any intense physical activity. Then have another 8 ounces right beforehand.

6.    Drink during activity: Stay cool with cool fluids.

Try to drink at least 8 ounces for every half hour of strenuous activity, even when it is cold. On a brisk walk, you can sweat as much as a quart per hour. Water is best in most cases. Sports drinks may help if your activity lasts over an hour or if the intensity is very high.

Celebrating the Joy of Nutrition and Fitness Part 6 of 7

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

6.    Move together: Join a class or walk with friends.

Making a commitment to someone else always makes it easier to fit fitness in. Plan walking holiday get-togethers, like caroling, in your neighborhood. Or check out the local mall walkers. Give a gift certificate to a dance or yoga class–for you and a friend!

Smart Drinks for Healthy Holidays

Staying well hydrated can make a difference in your health, your performance, and even your attitude. Choosing power drinks (like water, milk, and juice) instead of soft drinks and alcohol can help you maintain a healthy weight–and quench your thirst at the same time.

1.    Drink smart in the AM: Pour a glass of milk or juice.

Start the day out right by drinking at least 8 ounces of refreshing liquids before you leave the house. For an early morning health kick, choose a tall glass of low-fat or fat-free milk; some 100 percent fruit or vegetable juice; or a creamy fruit and yogurt smoothie.

2.    Drink smart all day: Keep a water bottle handy.

Carry a bottle in the car, to work, or at school, and fill it with cool water throughout the day. If you enjoy a bubbly beverage, try sparkling water or club soda instead of a sugary soft drink. For a real thirst quencher, add a slice of fresh lime, lemon, or orange.
